Our Process

At Trout, we employ a closed-loop approach that is designed to build the momentum of our clients’ investor relations efforts over time. While this approach will vary with each unique client situation, the following provides a sense of our process:

  •  To gauge market sentiment, we begin with a comprehensive Needs Assessment, which may include a market audit, analysis of existing relationships, identification of opinion-leading allies, and evaluation of news flow and milestones and/or a review of existing materials.
  • We then apply our proprietary Market Intelligence to create a context for the situation. In doing so, we may look at overall capital market trends as well as industry-specific trends and events.
  • After analysis is complete, we collaborate with clients to formulate specific Objectives for the selected program. These will also form the basis for measuring program outcomes.
  • We then create and implement a Customized Strategy that will include the development of key messages, identification of target audiences and the formulation of supporting tactics.
  • Once strategy Execution is complete, we can begin the process of Evaluation, which occurs over time. Through measurement and real-time follow-up and feedback, we can understand how to continually strengthen messages, refine targets and build out the story or strategy in order to heighten the impact of the ongoing investor relations program.
